This Associated Press release had a couple of mistakes which I corrected in small print.

"Bewitched" Festival Underway

July 23, 2006

SALEM, Massachusetts (AP) - Thirty-four years (actually it's 36 but who's counting!) after a good-natured witch named Samantha parked her broom, the town of Salem, Massachusetts, is remembering.

Salem last night kicked off its annual convention tribute to "Bewitched," the sitcom that twinkled the airwaves from 1964 to 1972.

Fans of the show have come from as far away as Australia. Among other things, they're attending Bewitched seminars and watching episodes of the show, eight of which were actually filmed in Salem (Exterior scenes were shot in Salem, Gloucester, and Magnolia to be used primarily in 6-Salem based episodes - the first two episodes of the Salem series didn't show any scenes from Salem whatsoever).

The convention runs through Wednesday.
